Academy Of Management Annual Meeting

Ute Stephan presented joint SEFORIS work at the Academy of Management Conference in Vancouver, Canada – the largest gathering of management scholars worldwide. One contribution explored how organizations such as social enterprises can stimulate societal change Organizations Driving Positive Social Change: A Review of Mechanisms and an Integrative Framework (joint with Ciara Kelly, University of Sheffield, Malcolm Patterson, University of Sheffield and Johanna Mair, Hertie School of Governance). The other paper investigates across 47 countries who becomes a social entrepreneur and shows that while there continues to be a gender gap in social entrepreneurship, this is closed for highly educated women Human Capital, Social and Commercial Entrepreneurship: The Role of Gender and Institutions (joint work with Saul Estrin, London School of Economics and Tomasz Mickiewicz, Aston Business School).
